Ford Civil Engineering were contracted by Betterment Properties to carry out the infrastructure works for their new development at Crossways.

A major element of the works was the construction of a 1500m stormwater tank to attenuate the rainwater run-off from the site.

Concerned with the cost of a traditional concrete attenuation system, Ford Civil Engineering, in conjunction with the client and the local water authority, received permission for and constructed the first ever adoptable attenuation system using prefabricated polypropylene cells. This was a significant achievement and it allowed Betterment Properties to make substantial savings in both time and money.
