At Ford Civil Engineering we recognise the importance of health and safety and its impact on everything we do. We have an excellent track record and by continual vigilance and the updating of relevant training, we strive to keep it that way.
Our Contracts Managers are trained to Site Manager Safety Training Scheme level, whilst our Site Foremen have either SMSTS or SSSTS qualifications. We also seek to attain 100% possession of either CSCS or CPCS cards to demonstrate the awareness of health and safety issues throughout our workforce. Other relevant health and safety training, such as first-aid, confined spaces, streetworks, etc., is also provided to our operatives.
We are able to act as subcontractor but, if required by the Client, we can also take on the role of Principal Contractor up to oversite level . To prove our health and safety competence we have achieved both the NHBC Safemark and SMAS Approved qualifications.
To maintain our high standards of health and safety and to ensure compliance with current regulations, we use the services of an external H&S Consultant to provide us with advice on all health and safety matters, as well as carrying out on-site audits to check that we continue to work in a safe manner and undertaking rigorous incident investigation.
Health and safety plays an integral part in construction and it is Ford Civil Engineering’s aim to provide all employees with sufficient support and resources for all of us to maintain a safe working environment.
